Viva la Gong Festival 2008,
the best Festival yet!

October saw the return of Viva la Gong, Wollongong’s annual Arts & Community Festival with this year's Festival ‘The Spirit of Flight' having one of the best attendance records yet!

With international headlining acts such as Tim Freedman and Katie Noonan and the traditional mix of circus, street performers and children’s workshops, Viva la gong 2008 was a great success. Debuting MacCabe Park as this years festival hub worked extremely well over the festival period, with the Festival Night Hub the Circus Monoxide Tent, coming alive in the evening to host our late night ticketed events.

Tickets sales were strong and with such a diverse line up this years festival, truly delivered ‘something for everyone!

The response from the media and public has been amazing – and we are extremely glad that it has been so well received.

Wollongong is a fantastic city and just the right size for such a festival. the Viva la Gong Festival  really is at the heart of the City .
